Following an opening day draw, Tunbridge Wells ensured that they got their first win of the season on the road at Holmesdale. Andy Irvine got the away side off to a flying start, putting them in front on 6 minutes. Again, the killer touch was lacking, however, and again Holmesdale punished their visitors by levelling matters through Taylor just after the break. On this occasion, though, being pegged back produced the desired effect, and on the hour mark, Jack Harris hit The Wells back into the lead to secure the points.

"We were pleased to get three points on the board," Martin Larkin, first team manager, told www.tunbridgewellsfc.co.uk. "We made hard work of it, and the turnover of players this summer may have affected our fluidity a little - certainly being without Joe Fuller for the first couple of weeks has been a factor. Yet we dug in and got the result we needed which was pleasing. Again, we have limited them to very little in front of goal, but have conceded again in the first minute of the second half. We will need to address that."
