Wells Fail to Fell Oaks

A single goal defeat at Sevenoaks Town consolidated the Oaks place in third spot in the Kent League table, and further locked The Wells into tenth place.

The Wells dominated the second half without finding the net to cancel out a first half opener from their rivals.

"I left Sevenoaks with a funny feeling to be honest," first team manager Martin Larkin told www.tunbridgewellsfc.co.uk afterwards. "We were excellent last night - some of the football we played in the first half was exceptional with Charlie Sharman playing out of his skin, the back four being very good (especially Scott Whibly and Tom Davey who played at left back). Jon Pilbeam played very well up top, and on another day we would have had three or four goals before half time. So with that in mind it is just very frustrating that we didn’t convert those chances and win the game.

"What it did show is that there isn’t a lot between the sides as we totally dominated the game. Sevenoaks have made their way up to third in the league which should really motivate our guys and show what potential we have in the squad, if not the consistency as of yet that we crave."
