Wells Bounce Back At Hythe

Tunbridge Wells bounced back from defeat at Corinthian to graft out a highly commendable 0-0 draw on the road at title-hopefuls Hythe Town.

“I'm really happy with Saturdays performance," Martin Larkin told www.tunbridgewellsfc.co.uk. "As a coaching team we put a lot of thought into how we were going to set up, and the plan came off very well, Hythe only had the one shot on target which was from a free kick, and we looked very dangerous every time we broke during the second half. With a bit more composure we would have come away with three points.

"The back four were exceptional as were Sam Phillips and Michal Czanner, who made his save when he needed to. That's exactly the reason why we wouldn’t swap him for anyone in this league.

“In other team affairs, we have had a seven-day approach for a forward turned down as he didn’t want to travel to Tunbridge Wells, but we are expecting to sign a midfielder from a Ryman League club at training tonight (Tuesday) following good discussions with him this week.”
