Wells Win Well-Earned Point

Tunbridge Wells won a point from their Culverden encounter against one of the Kent League's more fancied sides for the title this season.

Following the match, Martin Larkin told www.tunbridgewellsfc.co.uk, “I’m delighted with that result. We have worked hard the last two weeks since the Herne Bay game and considering that we are still missing a couple of key players, we defendes superbly.

“Faversham were restricted to one chance in the first half which again came from an individual error, but I thought it was an even first half. In the second half we dominated for the first 30 minutes and I really don’t think it’s unreasonable to say we should have scored two or three.

“We tired slightly, though, and the breaks in the play for injuries didn’t really help our momentum. But to keep a clean sheet against a side with the firepower of Buster Smissen, Richard Sinden and Damien Abel we are naturally delighted.

“In speaking with Justin Lutchford - Faversham’s manager - after the game, he was very happy to have got out of here not being beaten after their midweek exploits, and is pretty happy not to have to come back here again this season!”
